VR training scenario enabling current and future safety professionals to conduct safety tours, identify potential hazards, and practice responding appropriately to safety issues or critical incidents within a realistic virtual industrial plant.
The training scenario is part of a VR training solution created in collaboration with Riveria, Stora Enso and Siun Sote, co-funded by Regional Council of North Karelia through ERDF project Turvallisuusalan koulutuskeskittymä.
Client challenge – Engaging new employees or security students in the subject of study more effectively, assessing their skill levels, improving learning outcomes, reducing the need for trainer guidance and fostering dialogue with different stakeholders.
Our solution – A realistic VR training solution featuring an industrial safety walk with the ability to collect data on participant performance and give feedback to them.
Channels – Trainees complete the scenarios using Meta Quest 3 headsets or a PC, either individually or with a trainer, to receive instant feedback.
Outcome – With the new scalable training environment, trainees gain confidence by practicing in a safe and engaging environment, while performance analytics offer valuable insights that foster a more effective dialogue between trainers and different stakeholders.
The 3D environments featured in the training scenarios are based on laser-scanned data, designed to make the experience more engaging and realistic.
The solution integrates with a web-based LMS to provide valuable insights into trainee performance, forming a clear basis for feedback, discussion, and skill assessment.
Trainers can easily edit existing scenarios or create entirely new ones in a web based ctrl.studio editor, allowing them to tailor the content for different skill levels and topics with no coding required.
