A modular VR solution enabling the North Karelia Municipal Education and Training Consortium, Riveria, and their partners to teach important skills related to security guard work for a variety of audiences and skill levels.
The project is co-funded by Regional Council of North Karelia through ERDF project Turvallisuusalan koulutuskeskittymä.
Client challenge – Engaging security field students and professionals in the subject of study more effectively, assessing their skill levels, improving learning outcomes, reducing the need for teacher guidance and fostering dialogue with Riveria’s partners.
Our solution – A realistic VR training solution featuring multiple scenarios, including an industrial safety walk and a threatening client encounter, with the ability to collect data on participant performance.
Channels – Riveria students in classrooms and other trainees in partner organisations complete the scenarios using Meta Quest 3 headsets or a PC, either individually or with a teacher or trainer, to receive instant feedback.
Outcome – With the new scalable training environment, students and trainees gain confidence by practicing in a safe and engaging environment, while performance analytics offer valuable insights that foster a more effective dialogue between educators, students, and their partners.
The 3D environments featured in the training scenarios are based on laser-scanned data, designed to make the experience more engaging and realistic.
The solution integrates with a web-based LMS to provide valuable insights into trainee performance, forming a clear basis for feedback, discussion, and skill assessment.
Trainers can easily edit existing scenarios or create entirely new ones in a web based ctrl.studio editor, allowing them to tailor the content for different skill levels and topics with no coding required.
