Head-turning holographic projection at flagship store in London
The fashion footwear brand United Nude’s creative director asked Stereoscape to make a lifesize hologram to work with the minimalist layout of the London store. The brand had collaborated with Dutch haute couture designer Iris van Herpen, so the creative director proposed combining United Nude’s striking shoes with van Herpen’s signature, architectural dresses.
The Stereoscape team suggested creating a holographic projection where a model arrives from future in a time machine and tries to touch the shop audience, whom she thinks are from the past. The aims of the campaign were to create an unusual experience for shoppers and to maximise PR. Stereoscape wrote a creative treatment outlining this concept, which was then approved by United Nude.
The stunning holographic display was produced and installed by Stereoscape, working in collaboration with NEC Display Solutions, who supplied the video projection technology. The 3D holographic projection featured a life-size model in a futuristic but fairy like setting, dressed in fashion by United Nude and Iris van Herpen. The installation was on show from 14–26 February 2013 at the United Nude flagship store in Covent Garden, London.
“A fabulous job! Futuristic and professional, it’s just amazing! This installation exceeded our expectations. In addition, the team was excellent, it was an absolute pleasure to work with Stereoscape.”
